Were you impacted by the ash cloud?

Remember all the travel disruption that was caused across Europe when a volcano in Iceland erupted? That was eight years ago. Customers who started saving €150 with Zurich in 2010 could have over €18,000 today*.
Few of us could pronounce Eyjafjallajökull but its impact was felt right across Europe. This volcanic eruption in Iceland was relatively small in comparison to other volcanoes, but caused major travel disruption due to the extensive ash cloud that billowed out.
It was April 14 2010 when the eruptions started and it was the spread of the ash plume across Europe that caused delays to air traffic, and in some cases, cancellations especially in Northern and Western Europe.
At the same time as the volcano was erupting, for some Zurich customers their attention turned to savings. Customers who started saving €150 a month for eight years from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2017, could have saved over €12,000, but for those that saved that same amount in Zurich's Balanced Fund, they could now have over €18,000* in savings.
Time really does fly and savings can grow quickly over a short amount of time.Starting a savings plan today can help you prepare for your future and look forward to those big and small events in life. Some people put their savings into a regular savings or deposit account, and that gives them a predictable rate of interest. But when you invest your money in a fund it has the potential to grow faster. Some funds offer consistent growth while others have potential for higher long term gains. The higher the potential for growth, the riskier the fund, and your investment could go up or down.
You don't have to be an expert get your savings working harder for you. You just need to talk to a trusted financial broker. Call our financial planning team on 1850 804164 or find a financial advisor in your area to get started.
