Introducing new 2 Factor Authentication login - what does this mean?

Later this month we will be upgrading the login journey and rolling out 2 Factor Authentication (2fa) for all users (Brokers/Customers and Employers) accessing Zurich's secure website. Once live, the new login journey will be a 2-step process. First, you'll enter an email address and password and following this you will be prompted to input a time sensitive code that will be sent by text to your verified mobile phone for each login.

Getting ready for the change

Once the new login journey is live, you will be prompted to link your preferred email address and a mobile number to your account. We’ll then send a code to both your email and mobile phone as part of this verification process.

Once both your email and phone are verified, you are fully transitioned to the new secure 2fa login. Your email address will become your username and you will no longer be required to provide your pin on login. Your pin will be replaced by a one-time passcode sent to your verified phone each time you login – this is the second factor of authentication to prove your identity and protect access to your account.

Advantages:

  • Simplified login – Users will use their email address when logging in rather than having to remember a username.
  • Enhanced Security – At Zurich, keeping your data secure is paramount and our new 2 factor login journey adds an additional layer of security to your account to ensure you are the only person with access to your account. Enhanced security is essential as we expand on our digital services in the future.
  • Ability to self-recover your account– You will be able to choose and reset your own password without contacting Zurich.
  • Distinct unique login for each individual – Each user within your company will have their own login details so no longer any need to share login credentials
  • Simplify the Leaver process – if someone leaves your company, simply notify Zurich and we will revoke all access linked to that distinct user account in line with our leavers policy so that data is protected.

What do you need to do?

If you currently have your own individual login credentials i.e. you have a Username, Password & Pin and can access the Secure site today – you are all set for when we go-live. You do not need to do anything today.

When you login to our site later this month, you will be prompted to link an email address and mobile number to your account. This is a simple and straightforward process and we will circulate a demo video and FAQ closer to launch.

However, if you don’t currently have your own individual login credentials i.e. perhaps you share with a colleague or haven’t gotten around to setting one up – then you need to take action before March 12th. When the new 2 Factor Authentication login journey goes live, every individual must have their own unique login details. These unique details will be linked to your own individual mobile number and email address. You will not be able to access the Secure site without this.

How to I organise new login credentials for multiple users currently sharing a single account?

It's easy, all you need to do is complete the below editable Broker Centre Access form and have the Principal of your agency return it to your Broker Consultant or Agencyadmin@zurich.com.

Our agency team will provide you a username along with a temporary password and pin via email.

If you have any questions about this form and how to complete it, please contact your Broker Consultant who would be happy to guide you.

Will this change affect my Customers?

Yes, all users that access our Zurich secure site will need to transition to the new 2 Factor login journey. When your clients’ login onto our site later this month, they will be prompted to link an email address and mobile number to their account. This is a simple and straight forward process and we expect most users will be familiar with this process as it becomes commonplace with regard to online banking and other secure online traders (Amazon, PayPal, etc.).

New Customers – the new user setup will not change. After launch, new users will continue to receive two letters (one with a pin and one with a password). However, the first time they login they will be prompted to add an email address and mobile phone number to their account so they can transition to the new 2 Factor login journey.

What happens next?

At present your login will remain the same. As we move closer to the launch date, we will be in touch again to provide you with login demo videos and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document.
