Coming together for the first time in person, the Power 2 Progress shared learning day in UCD last month, finally gave us a chance to meet some of the fantastic students and teachers from the programme.

Funded by the Z Zurich Foundation and Rethink Ireland, Power 2 Progress is a 2-year educational programme run by UCD, it will support senior cycle students in 21 DEIS schools over the next two years. Students will receive extra tuition from UCD tutors in two subjects per week.

Students and their teachers from the 21 participating schools attended the shared learning day in UCD. Students were given a campus tour and a wide range of taster lectures from a spectrum of course on offer in UCD. Minister for Further and Higher Education, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris launched the event. This program highlights the importance of supporting our communities and it was great to attend this wonderful event in person. For more information on the programme, click here.
