Zurich at the National Ploughing Championships 2025

What an incredible three days it was at the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. From the 16th to 18th of September, Zurich Insurance was at the heart of the action, celebrating the strength, teamwork, and resilience of Ireland’s farming and sports communities. We are proud to be part of one of Ireland's largest rural and community events again this year.

Our stand was buzzing with excitement as we proudly hosted the return of Ireland’s Fittest Farming Pair and launched the brand new Ireland’s Fittest Sports Club competitions. These free-to-enter challenges put participants’ physical and mental toughness to the test, all under the watchful eye of GAA legend Davy Fitzgerald.

For both competitions, one team member “hung tough” on a bar for as long as possible, while their partner performed as many step-ups as they could within that time. The longer the hang, the more steps could be achieved—making teamwork and stamina absolutely crucial!

The stakes were high, with a fantastic €7,500 in prize funds up for grabs. We were thrilled to award €5,000 to Ireland’s Fittest Sports Club and €2,500 to Ireland’s Fittest Farming Pair. It was inspiring to see the dedication and competitive spirit from all the participants who had trained hard for this moment.
