Driving the future of innovation

Zurich Insurance Group has launched the second edition of its Innovation Championship, offering small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) the opportunity to work with Zurich to grow their business.

Here in Ireland, Zurich is looking for business owners with commercially viable technologies and innovative business offerings that tackle challenges around climate, health, automation and other issues expected to put a strain on the next generation.

Zurich is hoping that these ground-breaking ideas will help make a lasting impact in a changing world.

The Zurich Innovation Championship will provide the winners with the opportunity to apply their solutions for Zurich’s customers, and is a further step in Zurich’s aim to transform the insurance industry.

Applications are open until 17 December 2019, and from those entries, Zurich Ireland will select one SME with an insurtech solution and develop a case plan together over a five-month period. This business will then be put forward and a shortlist of eight companies globally will be announced in advance of the final round in August 2020. Three winners will then have the chance to work with Zurich on a local pilot with the objective of scaling it globally.
