Zurich volunteers make an impact with beach clean-ups

Clean Coasts, who work with communities to help protect Ireland’s waterways, coastline, seas, ocean and marine life, organised two ‘Big Beach Clean Events’ for Zurich employees to get involved in.
The first beach clean took place in Rosslare, Co Wexford on 9th October and the Booterstown to Sandymount, Co Dublin coastal clean took place on 14th October. Together, our two beach clean-ups helped remove 63kg of rubbish from local parks and the coastline, making a real difference to our community. The beach cleans are one of many initiatives spearheaded by the Zurich Sustainability Champions, with further activities and events planned in the future.
Clean Coasts organise 100s of beach clean-ups each year, mobilising thousands of volunteers, removing large quantities of marine litter from our coastline.
By promoting and facilitating coastal clean-ups, Clean Coasts are making a practical and positive impact on Ireland’s coastal environment.
Thanking Zurich volunteers for their efforts and involvement, Clean Coasts said that volunteers had made a tangible difference to the health of our ocean.
