Changes to SEPA Instant Payments

How we will process instant payments

We want to help you understand how we'll process the instant payments:

• - Payments received before 5pm on a business day: we'll treat your payment as received on that business day
• - Payments received after 5pm or outside business hours (including weekends and bank holidays): we'll treat your payments as received on the next working day.

New "Verification of Payee" protection

To help protect you from fraud, a new “Verification of Payee” check is being introduced. This feature will be in place from 9th October, though some banks may introduce it earlier.

What does this mean for you?

When you make a payment to Zurich, please be sure to enter the payee name exactly as it appears on Zurich’s bank account. If the names don’t match, your bank should alert you with a warning. To keep things running smoothly and avoid any delays, always use the correct payee details when making payments to us.
